I am searching…

I am searching for this in a world that is hell-bent on being a Romeo to one’s Juliet (well, they both died, so are you implying you want to die too?) Or Jack to one’s Rose (well, Jack died, so again, are you implying that you wish to live without your beloved?) Just saying…

And maybe a millennial was wrongly born in the generation of centennials…

I am searching for some old school love of sly and shy glances and discrete eye contact mixed with a few letters showered on me here and there.
I am searching for this in the world and generation of quick online love and over the table flings and some casual dating.

I am searching for some genuine songs, songs that explained exactly how friendship felt like, “Yeh Dosti hum nahi todenge…”
I am searching for this in a world of remixes
Which are, to put it mildly, BAD. Remixes feel like you are taking a good apple adding some chemicals to it to make it tastier but in the end, it ends up spoiling your health. Well, I need to hear those old songs again.

I am searching for Chandamama and Chacha Choudhary and Amar Chitra Katha.
I am searching for this in the times of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

I am searching for someone who will watch all the Harry Potter movie watching marathon with me.
I am searching for this in a world which has been running behind the last season of Game Of Thrones.

I am searching for someone who will bitch about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
I am searching for this in a world that is busy bitching about the last season? Episode? I don’t know I haven’t watched GOT.

I am searching for someone who still believes in FLAMES and “which colour do you choose.”
I am searching for this in a world that is full of a lot many double-faced, multi-coloured, deceitful idiots.

I am searching for someone who will sign the petition of bringing back Choco bytes and those Cadbury chocolates which have the prints of a cartoon character in white chocolate on it.
I am searching for this in a world where everyone is busy licking their fingers over Galaxy and Dairy milk Bubble.

I am searching for someone who will be the Oswald to my Daisy and Teddy to my Mister Bean and Richie Rich to my Gloria and Sabu to my Chacha Choudhary.
I am searching for this in a world that is hell-bent on being a Romeo to one’s Juliet (well, they both died, so are you implying you want to die too?) Or Jack to one’s Rose (well, Jack died, so again, are you implying that you wish to live without your beloved?) Just saying.

I am searching for someone who still finds the flare sleeves of a top cute and the bell-bottomed pants fashionable.
I am searching for this in the world that is gushing over crop tops and mini skirts.

I am searching for the old dial-up phones and cross-connections with a few letters thrown on my terrace.
I am searching for this in the world that is inside their wireless, portable, human-company proof phones.
I am searching for this in a world which uses short forms to say even “good morning” and “gn.”

I am searching for someone who will play andhali koshimbeer and dongar ka paani and have no qualms in playing luka chupi ( The GAME, NOT the movie.) and sakhlyaani (chains) and become a chor while playing with 15 or so other odd children living in the compounds of the same colony…
I am searching for this in a world that is so into those glass screens that these games have been long forgotten and replaced with PubG.

I am searching for someone who will take me to watch an actual natak (play/drama) and have no issues in making our own goofy little nataks…
I am searching for this in a world whose drama is only unfolding on tik tok and other apps…

I am searching for someone who will sit with me, aai, baba, dada, maushi, aatya, kaka, kaku, taai, and pet doggo and Billu. Together. And watch TV. Together…
I am searching for this in a world that is busy staring at their own small screens…

I am still searching.
But well, maybe…
Maybe, a millennial was wrongly born in the generation of Centennials…

To New Beginnings…

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.

To NEW beginnings…!♥

Hey!

So here’s to an amazing year filled with laughter, lessons, smiles and friends! 2019 was indeed a roller coaster ride with a lot of fun thrown in it. Well, it was a ride I enjoyed!

Here’s wishing to an amazing year ahead filled with more lessons, laughter and writing!

The new year is all about having new beginnings, so, this is MY new beginning! Let me take all of y’all on a wonderful journey of words, musings, stories and poetry from this messed up soul’s overactive imagination, who finds the reality too boring and hence, escapes into the realms of fiction…

So, here, cheers 🥂 to new beginnings!

And looking forward to an even more memorable year ahead!

Happy new year, everyone!

Yours,
